POSITION:    Risk Manager/Claims Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Risk Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the processing of insurance claims from start to finish. This includes evaluating claims, investigating incidents, communicating with senior leadership, field management, insurance companies and claimants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Management: Handle insurance claims from initiation to resolution.  
  • Investigation: Gather necessary information through interviews, inspections, and documentation to assess the legitimacy of claims.
  • Communication:
  • Documentation: Ensure all claims are documented accurately and all necessary paperwork is completed. Maintain comprehensive records for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess damage, loss, or injury claims to determine the extent of liability and the validity of the claim.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with claimants, third parties, and service providers to achieve fair settlements.
  • Compliance: Ensure all claims are handled in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and legal standards.
  • Customer Support: Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries and addressing concerns related to claims.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports regarding claim statuses, claims reserves, and any issues that arise during the handling process.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk Management or a related field, preferably withing the construction industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance policies, claim processes, and regulatory standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally.
  • Ability of work collaboratively across department and with senior leadership
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to analyze and assess complex information, ensuring accuracy in all documentation.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple claims and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.

Details:

  • Hours: Full-time 
  • Location: Westlake Village, CA 
  • Salary: $100,000- $130,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, education, credentials, and Licensure when applicable.

POSITION:   Junior Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Manager with field and project engineering, quality control, contract administration, shop drawing review, submittals,    RFI’s, scheduling, and related support functions.
  • Assist Project Manager and Project Superintendent in establishing the construction plan and engineering methods.
  • Assist with material procurement and invoice approval.
  • Coordinate and review drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system.
  • Prepare and track monthly quantities, progress payments and estimates.
  • Subcontract administration – defining scope of work, answering inquiries, monitoring progress, tracking and processing payments.
  • Designing temporary works and inspection.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of related experience (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to complete and prioritize tasks on multiple concurrent projects within given timeframes.
  • Sound administrative and management skills.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, reasoning abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented.

Salary Range: $21.50-$26.50 per hour


POSITION: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the full project life cycle from pre-construction to project closeout, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop, monitor, and control project budgets. Approve progress payments and ensure accurate forecasting of project costs.
  • Scheduling: Create and manage project schedules, coordinating activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Change Orders & Contract Management: Review and negotiate change orders, claims, and contract modifications. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor project engineers, superintendents, and other staff to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. Provide regular progress updates and address any project concerns
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies. Promote a strong safety culture on site.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure all work is performed to the highest standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of project management experience in heavy civil construction (highways, bridges, utilities, etc.).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and familiarity with cost control software.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction contracts, change orders, and public procurement processes.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, troubleshoot issues on site, and make informed decisions.
  • Licenses: PE license or other relevant certifications are a plus.
