Centennial Corridor Phase 1 - Kern River Bridge
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Client: City of Bakersfield
This $43 million project constructed four bridges over the Kern River and Truxton Avenue in Bakersfield for the new Centennial Corridor. The project widened two existing bridges by 170 feet at the Kern River and Truxtun Avenue to accommodate the future Centennial Corridor (SR 58) mainline. It also constructed two new bridges across Truxtun Avenue and the Kern River for the future westbound exit to Mohawk Street. The longest of the four bridges is 1,200 feet, 75 feet high, with a hinge to span the KCWA canal and the Kern River.
